Known for creating visually-appealing and family-friendly neighborhoods in the Central Valley, Fitzpatrick Homes is now underway with its newest development, Milestone, in Turlock. With commanding, luxurious homes set on large sprawling lots, Milestone was designed with a “small town” atmosphere in mind.
Residents will enjoy the benefits of country estate living but with all the services of Turlock close by.
What is immediately clear on viewing these 68 homes – ranging in size from 2,323 to 3,807 square feet – is that every aspect of this neighborhood has been designed to give its residents the comfort of living in a cohesive community while at the same time affording attractive visual distinction. The development’s curvilinear streets heighten the scenic appearance of the neighborhood. Rather than have homes face on another across hard-cornered, grid-planned streets, Milestone favors softer lines and gentle rolling avenues.
Situated on lots of varying sizes and shapes – lot sizes range from 7,000 square feet up to 20,000 square feet – each of these substantial properties is angled on its lot to follow the curves of the street. With different set-backs from the road – from 20 feet to as much as 60 feet – the homes have a pleasing placement, and semi-mature trees and foliage further add to that scenic feel. Meandering sidewalks invite neighborhood strolls.
As Dennis Fitzpatrick of Fitzpatrick Homes explains, “We’ve been building in the Central Valley for over 12 years and we wanted to create a community that was unlike traditional “cookie-cutter” neighborhoods. We set out to create a small-town feeling, where people could go out walking after dinner, where they might see their neighbors and stop for a chat, in the style of an “old time” community of tree-lined streets.”
As for the homes themselves, there are five models that make up Milestone community, each outfitted with the extras that one would expect in homes of this quality – from wall-to-wall carpeting to GE appliances, tiled entryways and counters, balconied windows, walk-in closets, etc. Each home has been designed with a spacious openness in mind, with archways and raised ceilings throughout. But perhaps the defining characteristic of all of these models is their flexibility. Tailoring each home to suit the needs and tastes of each homeowner is a major part of the Milestone experience.
The Classic model is a one-story design with add-on choices that can make the home a four-bedroom, two-bath, with a three-car garage.This model ranges in size from 2,323 up to 2,451 square feet, and one design choice allows for a significant expansion in size of several bedrooms and the garage. A fireplace is standard in the family room, with a second fireplace available in the master bedroom. A large rear porch is an additional option.
The Celebration, ranging in size from 2,565 up to 2,923 square feet, can be built with up to five bedrooms and three and one half baths, with a three-car garage (and an optional rear garage door, perfect for storing boats, or extra cars). Numerous walk-in closets abound in this home, both upstairs and downstairs.In the kitchen a large countertop island provides extra room for preparing family meals or doing homework in the afternoon.
The Liberty’s expansive feel (the plan ranges from 2,705 to 3,317 square feet) also offers up to five bedrooms and three and one half baths with a four-car garage as an option. The soaring entryway is open to the second floor, giving one an overwhelming sense of space immediately upon entering the home. One option for the fifth bedroom (with its own bath) provides a separate entryway, a space that could easily work as a mother-in-law suite.
The largest models in Milestone are the Legend I and the Legend II. Both of these luxurious models center on majestic and sweeping staircases opening on the central foyer, and giving these homes a distinctive grandeur. Both models also share the option of turning part of the downstairs space into an immense super family room.
Ranging in size from 3,605 to 3,784 square feet, the Legend I can offer as many as six large bedrooms, three baths, and a three-car garage which can specifically be designed to accommodate an RV. The Legend II comes in at an astounding 3,807 square feet, an immense home which exudes luxury and wide open space at every turn. One particularly attractive option with this model is the possible addition of even more outdoor porch space.
